Cover Combat: Glass Houses (The Morganville Vampires #1)

Cover Combat is a weekly meme hosted by Anagha at Book Spark. It's something that I enjoy participating in at her blog and thought I'd give it a go here. Ana usually has a giveaway to go along with it, thanks to the support of various authors offering up copies of their books. Unfortunately, I don't have anything to giveaway but I hope you'll participate just the same.

I am guilty of judging a book by it's cover! I admit it. A nice cover really helps to draw my attention to a book. I don't necessarily let the cover alone decide whether to buy it though, but an appealing cover goes a long way!

For my first cover combat I randomly selected a book that was recommended to me on Goodreads: Glass Houses (The Morganville Vampires #1) by Rachel Caine.

Synopsis
From the author of the popular Weather Warden series comes the debut of an exciting new series set in Morganville, Texas, where you would be well advised to avoid being out after dark.

College freshman Claire Danvers has had enough of her nightmarish dorm situation. When Claire heads off-campus, the imposing old house where she finds a room may not be much better. Her new roommates don't show many signs of life, but they'll have Claire's back when the town's deepest secrets come crawling out, hungry for fresh blood.

  1. The funny thing is- I have never seen any of these covers? Is the English one the UK one or the US one? I like the last one the best- I love her hair! (And I think white books really stand out!)

  2. Good question Coranne. LOL I do believe it is the US version. Goodreads just stated it as the English version so that's what I put down. Sorry for the confusion, but thank you for commenting.

  3. Hey Pam!

I had never seen any cover of this book other than the standard US one. I love this combat!! SO hard to decide. I can't view the poll for some reason, but my two favorites were the US and the Swedish covers. I pick.... Swedish! It gives off a very steampunky feel and the girl looks more kickass than in the others :D
